Keeping It Classy | Styling Your Winter Coats | Harrisburg Photographer

Picking out the perfect outfit in the winter can be a bit sad, because you know you will just have to cover it up with your coat if you don't want to freeze. This just means its that time of year when we have to start including our coats into the overall look. The options for outerwear are endless and they can really amp up your overall appearance. I personally love a J. Crew peacoat because they are classic and versatile. With the right accessories, you do not have to sacrifice any of your style for warmth this winter. For your everyday look, try adding a hat and scarf for warmth. These pieces can also add style to the outfit so be sure to pic a scarf and hat with patterns and colors that compliment each other. A fun earring can also add a little glamour to the cozy ensemble.

For a dressier occasion, have fun with textures, patterns, and gems. The coat you are wearing may cover the amazing dress you picked out, but that doesn't mean you have to sacrifice your style. Patterned tights can keep you warm and they add extra visual appeal to an outfit that is mostly one piece (the coat).

For an edgier look, faux fur is very trendy this year and would look great on your winter coats. Dark colored denim and a felt hat pair well with any winter outfit. Dark colors draw in warmth but they don't have to be all black.  If you are feeling very adventurous, oxblood lipstick is becoming very popular and would add an extra pop to your overall look.
