Keeping It Classy | The Golden Rule | Charlotte NC Photographer
A couple weeks ago I mentioned the "Golden Rule" of Keeping It Classy. The Golden Rule states that you should only pick ONE area of skin to show at a time. If you a want a backless dress try to pick something with a higher neckline. If the hem of your skirt is pretty short you should probably pick a more conservative top. The rule is all about showing off your best assets without going overboard. Sometimes it can be tough to find clothing that walks that fine line, but following the Golden Rule can help! The rule doesn't force you to cover up in a parka and baggy pant but it does promote tastefulness in everything you put on. Also apply this rule when choosing the right clothes for your Portrait Session. You want to make sure you are presenting yourself in the most tasteful way. Another little tip is to watch the length of your dress and shorts. When you go to sit down, you don't want to make a big reveal! :)
Continue Keeping It Classy and Learn how these outfits are following the Golden Rule!
Maxi dresses are some of the most comfortable and fashionable items of the summer. While most keep you covered pretty well, a lot of these long dresses are starting to be slit up the side to show off a little leg. There is NOTHING wrong with showing a little leg but consider pairing it with a flat or low wedge to finish your tasteful summer look. Also, the higher the slit the higher the neckline. While everyone loves a good Jessica Rabbit dress, they may not be great for everyday wear.
Continuing the trend of showing off your newly tanned gams, hem lines can get a lot shorter in the heat of the summer. While I would recommend keeping an eye on length, if styled properly, short dresses can still take part in Keeping It Classy. Flat sandals are a must and a more conservative top helps you follow the Golden Rule.
Finally, if your top is low cut your bottoms should be longer. Sometimes, it feels great to show off your feminine figure with a low cut top, but that doesn't mean you have to show off everything else too. A flowy pair of palazzo pants or a nice maxi skirt help keep a tinier top in line with the Golden Rule while also allowing you to look gorgeous in the sweltering heat of summer time.
Now go out and show off that great figure! Just don't forget to continue Keeping It Classy ;)
