Justin & Rachel's Wedding | Part 1 | Meaningful Details | Melissa Lynn Hunt Photography

It's pretty often that I end up working with Brides & Grooms that are very similar to me in personality.  Justin & Rachel are definitely no exception.  They are so down to earth and  have a strong love for their friends and family.   Their beautiful backyard wedding reflected both of those things and I have such an appreciation for it.  With every single detail I came across my eyes grew wider and smile grew bigger. As I learned about the meaning behind certain decorations I would begin to tear up.  When I heard about all of the hard work that had been invested by their family and friends I was blown away.  This was truly a labor of love from start to finish.  I just knew that in order to do this wedding justice I had to dedicate separate blog posts.  Today you get to enjoy all of the details. After a successful trip to the Farmer's Market, Rachel returned home with 10 buckets of loose flowers as well as her bouquet and ceremony site arrangements. Most every flower arrangement was put together by family and friends.

Although it was a cloudy afternoon, this ceremony site comes to life with all the bright colored flowers.  It surely shines! So many of the details you will see pictured were rented.  I bet you would love to know where you can get those awesome barrels, wood stumps, flower pots, and mason jars???  Well let me tell you!! Cabin Creek Rentals in Lexington, NC.  Click here for a link to their FB page.

Rachel took a break from getting ready and took a peek at everything with her friends and family. Rachel fell in love with every single detail.  First you will see the clothesline that holds photos from when Justin and Rachel were dating. You will also see a special sign which features three very important dates in their lives and a beautifully decorated rustic ladder. Pictured last is the vintage bed side table used to hold photos from their engagement session and a wooden anchor that guests can sign.  Rachel chose to use the anchor to symbolize Justin's love of the sea.  Justin has his captain's license and his career keeps him off shore on a weekly basis.

Every part of the property was decorated perfectly for a backyard wedding. It felt warm, inviting, and happy throughout. Rachel was truly excited (and emotional) at every detail she saw. She was so happy.

Justin showed off his sweet side and carved a little something into the wood.  This stump acts as seating area around the fire pit. As I mentioned above, Justin has a love for the sea. So to tie that in even further, they put together a canoe filled with ice.  They set wine and beer kegs all throughout and it made for the perfect watering hole at the wedding!

We have finally come to my absolute favorite part of the details.  The dessert table. I am pretty sure I have told everyone I know about this fantastic concept.  The table showcased a small wedding cake decorated in shades of pink roses. It was surrounded by a variety of handmade desserts.  These were not just any desserts either.  They were speciality desserts made with love by their family and friends. You will also find tucked in, pottery vases handmade by Rachel's grandpa a long time ago.  I'm in love with how personal and sweet (hehehe, pun definitely intended) this idea is.

A lot of credit goes to Rachel's friend, Melissa Way, who was in charge of the overall look of the day. She designed and laid out everything so perfectly! I know that these girls were up early and I watched them work non-stop with so much care. Rachel is definitely blessed with a great group of family and friends.
