Diary of a Bride | Wedding Registries | Charleston Wedding Photographer
Although Carter and I created our wedding registry already we really haven’t added to it (ok even thought about it) since we initially went crazy scanning everything in Belks. We are getting closer to sending our save the dates out, which have our wedding website on them that contains the registry information. I don’t want them to go out without the registry being accurate so organizing it has been on my mind. I know we need to devote a morning this weekend to going to the mall early and finishing it with more of a plan this time. I found this very inclusive checklist that I have printed out and am using to get us in order. Real Simple has an online one that you can save, which I may switch to later.
While Carter and I are sticking to more traditional items for ours since we are moving in to a new apartment soon, non-traditional registries are becoming more and more common! One idea that I have seen a lot is creating a honeymoon registry. Websites like www.thebigdayregistry.com let couples list their honeymoon wishes from excursions to spa treatments, and guests can pay or whichever item they choose. Here is an example registry- how nice would it be to have a room upgrade as a gift? I think for couples that already have the basic items this is a great idea!
www.hatchmyhouse.com is another interesting concept. Couples who are still renting, or are trying to upgrade to a bigger/better home can give guests the opportunity to contribute to their savings for a future home.
If you are a couple with no need for home goods or other requests I Do Foundation is a super sweet way for guests to donate to a favorite charity of yours!
So many options! What are your thoughts? Do you prefer tradition or one of the more modern takes
