Diary of a Bride | Are Bridal Fairs Worth It | Carolina Bridal Fair | Melissa Lynn Hunt Photography

Melissa and I recently attended the Carolina Bridal Fair at the Cabarrus Arena and oh my goodness was it fun! I had been to a bridal show in Raleigh in January and loved looking at all the different tablescapes, flowers, etc. It was also a great way for me to get an idea of prices and what I could get for my money. At the Carolina Bridal Fair I walked away a key point (and a stomach full of cake samples) that made attending the fair a huge success in my book. Our reception venue does not supply linens so I need to figure out where to rent them from.  I spoke with a woman from a linen rental company and she informed me that she rents to brides in Charleston all the time. She said that hotels and event companies from Charleston frequently rent from her because the prices in Charleston are so inflated (because it is a small city and a very popular tourist destination).  The example she gave me was a satin tablecloth that rents for $32 in Charleston, and $8 in Concord. Wow!

In talking with her I realized that I need to look at sourcing what I can outside of the Charleston because of the price inflation. More work, but worth the savings in the end!

Overall, I think bridal fairs can be overwhelming but that all brides should go to at least one just for the experience. I wish that I could attend one in Charleston because it really is a great way to become familiar with local vendors and companies!
