Diary of a Charleston Bride | Marrying my Best Friend

As I am writing this we are 5 DAYS away from getting married! I have so enjoyed sharing my planning with you all and hope that it has been beneficial to some of you. Many people told me that I would reach a point of suddenly feeling calm about everything and to be honest I did not believe them! It is so easy to get wrapped up in the little details and wanting everything to be perfect. About 2 days ago the feeling came over me that no matter what happens on the actual day I am getting married to my best friend, surrounded by the people that mean the most to me and that is what is ultimately important.

Am I totally calm? Absolutely not- there are still a million things to do, and I feel like I haven’t had a second to breathe in the last week. But at the end of the day I know that everything will be perfect, because it doesn’t matter if one detail is off- what matters is that we are taking a vow to each other in front of our friends and families and starting an exciting new chapter of our lives!

I found this article a while ago and Carter and I have really enjoyed going through the questions and having open conversation through them.  For me it was a great reminder when I was getting caught up and stressed about the details of what the day is really about.
