A 5 year old Super Hero | Personal

There are so many words to describe what it’s like being a mom. If you made me shout out three words off the top of my head I would say, Amazing, Proud, and Incredible.  They don’t even truly sum it up though.  Sometimes there aren’t even words to describe it.  It’s just this great feeling you have inside that overwhelms you with joy.  For the past 5 years I have been incredibly blessed to be Noah’s mom.  He has brought new meaning to life, love, and happiness.
It was as if I had received a promotion in life when he was born.  My life had new purpose and meaning.  Becoming a parent puts reality into check.  You become responsible for every little second of this tiny person’s life.  Don’t even get me started about love! Love was catapulted to a whole new level when Noah came into my life.  I think every mom out there would agree, it’s just this indescribable awesome feeling.  Your heart could just burst at any moment because of all the love. Even when you are upset or frustrated with them there is that underlying love you discipline with.  (and yes, you find yourself saying with an angry tone, “I am only doing this because I love you.”)

Happiness is now defined by his happiness.  Don’t get me wrong I still have my personal happiness in check, but I do not exaggerate here, Noah’s happiness absolutely defines my happiness.  As a mom, I think about his happiness all the time.  I hope, wish, and pray for his happiness.

Noah’s 4th year was filled with monster trucks, race cars, dinosaurs, and super heroes.  As we approached his 5th birthday super heroes were the front runner.  He was consumed by everything Hulk, Spiderman, Superman, Captain America, and Iron Man.  Noah loved playing super heroes so much that he would get in trouble at school for trying to save the world when he wasn’t supposed to.  He takes his job seriously I guess.

It was only right that we commemorate his 5th birthday with a little super hero inspired photo op!  He proudly dressed himself with a superman cape and captain america sunglasses.  I threw in a balloon.  The rest his history.

In just 5 quick years I have seen God at his best.  I am thankful every day that he gave me this blessing, responsibility, and opportunity to experience such a beautiful part of life.  As I sit here choked up over this 5th birthday.  I pray that God can now give me the strength I need to make it through the first day of kindergarten!!
